Cowboy 2 has the kind of name that sounds like it belongs to the street - having outlasted plenty of trends, Cowboy 2 has roots going back to the 1990s, and remains one of Cowboy’s long-running fixtures.

Inside, the layout gives it more personality than you might expect. Alongside the main stage are small U-shaped booths, several built around their own pole, so groups can almost carve out a little show of their own while the rest of the room keeps moving around them. Recent reviews still single out the energy, music and lively dancer lineup as strengths.

There’s something reassuringly old-school about Cowboy 2 without it feeling stuck there. It has seen fashions, owners and neighbouring bars come and go, yet that enormous neon COWBOY 2 sign is still hanging over the soi.

On a street called Cowboy, you’d expect at least one bar to wear the name properly.
