Crazy House gives remarkably little away from the outside. Step through the modest entrance, though, and the name starts making sense very quickly.

The room is packed tightly around a small stage, with dancers and customers sharing what feels like every available metre. This isn’t really the place for easing gently into Bangkok nightlife. It’s close, uninhibited and deliberately full-on, with the performers spending as much time working the room as the stage.

Crazy House doesn’t just borrow the name. It spends the night trying to earn it.
